Tree Creature

started to animate and composite what is probably the most akward creature in the film to create... He is very detailed, slow and creaky. Due to his size and extremely tall proprotions, I have found him very hard to storyboard him in the way I would like...

While he sleeps, the night changes colour and here is a sample of what the sky behind him might look like.

Fun with Tissue Paper and Lights

For the varying types of forest, I have been photographing layers of tissue paper on a transparent board lit from behind.

Putting more layers of light blue tissue paper on top of a layer seems to give it a more blurred, foggy and out-of-focus look. This could prove useful for the fog effects in the final scenes of my animation and also for the shots which need a low depth of field.

New Website

www.yetiplay.com is now partially up and running... it's very crude right now, it is eventually going to be a flash site showing the final results of my degree with maybe a few interactive games and things but at the moment its just a few pages that link together with the words "coming soon" ... at least that means I've re-discovered the password to my webspace... which is an improvement over this morning! Yay!
